Ever since I was a kid, I remember plugging earphones into my ears to listen to the songs of my favorite bands and sing myself to sleep. �What if my room could sing it for me?� I thought. Open the door and the rhythm would spring out with the melodies - that would be awesome!

9 W, a boutique studio hotel, has just brought the music lovers� imagination to life. Twelve rooms, twelve tracks and one album each. Each room is inspired by the style of music that we love. From Track One �Chinese�, decoratively dominated with the color red, which of course is the Chinese lucky color. Indulge yourself by imagining being the great emperor, wearing a cheongsam and singing along with the Tian Mi Mi. Tune into the second track, �Country�, where you�ll be lost in the cowboy world. The decorations are mostly in wood - even the sink which is massively huge and beautiful. Turn on the antler lamp above the bed and imagine riding a horse - teehee!

The third track takes you back to the 70s. Disco light bulb, big glass window, colour purple and music from The BGs and Mamamia. The fourth track is �Lanna�, a tribute to this beautiful city. It�s the only room without a bed. Sleep like the locals on a mattress placed on the floor. The room is decorated in dark wood, silver, water color paintings and music from Chiang Mai�s favorite artists, Jaran Manopetch and Suntree Vejanon. Waiting for you on the next track is the King of Rock �n� Roll. The Elvis Room is decorated just in his style. It has the best view over the balcony. The bed is huge and round and sleeping in it you feel just like a king. Now having had the King on the fifth track, who do you have on the sixth but the Queen of Pop � Madonna! Let her sing you her all-time hit �Like a Virgin� while you sit on the red couch in a room decorated in pink and purple. And these are just half of the album! The other half comprises tracks of Thai traditional music, English sweethearts � the Beatles - King of Pop Michael Jackson, and Classical, Rock and Modern music.

The twelve rooms divide into three types � studio, upper studio and loft suite studio type. All rooms have the same facilities: king-sized or twin beds, broadband and wifi internet access, LCD TV, air conditioning, minibars, coffee and tea making sets, hair dryers, and complimentary bath amenities. Additionally, the loft suite rooms have entertainment zones, with projectors, home theatres, comfortable sofas, balcony and living rooms.

Downstairs there is a shelf of movies you can borrow to take up to your room and music records that you can play on an old classic turntable available at reception. There are also some CDs from local bands on sale.

A huge Jacuzzi with aqua pure salt provided free for the guests. Also a caf� serving Thai and international cuisine and a beat bar you can hang out a little late in, with a glass or two of cocktails.

And the final touch? Step outside the hotel, cross the street to the opposite side and look back at this uniquely constructed building and you�ll see black iron bent as lines and curves covering the hotel, offering the feeling that the rhythm of the music embraces the whole building.
